Thanks, Yvonne!

Have you ever noticed how, over time, your wellness walks introduce you to a whole community of people who, like you, are enthusiastic about wellness?  You probably know the 'wellness community' phenomenon. Word spreads quickly about programs and clubs, collaborative efforts and ideas, businesses and organizations that affirm our 'good for your health' lifestyle.

Yvonne Evans, pictured here, is one of those people you hear about from every corner of the wellness community. Words like involved, dedicated and innovative are used to describe her. Besides being a wife, mother, educator and entrepreneur, for more than a decade she's presented popular wellness programs including a park walks series for African American women.

Yvonne inspires and connects people who have a common goal: get healthy and stay healthy. Community consciousness about topics like weight loss, body detoxification, and preparation of fresh juices has been raised because of her pioneering. Through her involvement with the American Cancer Society's Body and Soul initiative, she helps churches play a role in prevention of disease that disproportionately affects people of color. An experienced presenter at conferences and workshops, Yvonne is creator of the Sisters Taking Action promoting Raw Whole Foods and Healthy Eating program (RAW'STA).

Yvonne, thank you for the dedication to follow your passion, to provide expertise and to share your  resources. Thank you for being sensitive and responsive to our community's needs. Congratulations on your continuing role as a great leader!

Your Walking Friend,
Eliz.
