From Julie S. and the Education Committee of Sacramento Audubon Society - Got questions about improving your yard? Students in Mrs. Rugg's 6th Grade are ready to answer them!
The Society and 6th graders in Northern California present a good model that other organizations (including walking enthusiasts and advocates) and school-based educators can use to advance environmental awareness in any community.
In collaboration with the Education Committee of Sacramento Audubon Society, students will present a Community Environment Improvement Fair on Thursday, April 12 from 7-8pm. at Pershing School. The group has worked on projects and displays that show ways to improve your yard and make it wildlife friendly. They've created field guides to California wildlife and a class flora for the schoolyard (with help from Mary Maret of the Native Plant Society). An email R.S.V.P. is required.
