NorCal Updates: Exercise, Ecology & Baseball

Betcha wonder how exercise, ecology and baseball are related? Experience this 'mashup' firsthand when you help the Sacramento Tree Foundation plant 30 trees to shade the baseball field home run fence at Monterey Trails Elementary School.

Cara Smith, Volunteer Coordinator at the Tree Foundation, says this will be the first of many annual tree plantings at this site and invites walkers to join in the fun. Where else can you plant a few trees for a couple of hours and benefit school kids for, literally, generations?!

Date: November 11, 2006
Time: 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Place: Monterey Trails Elementary School, Elk Grove
Skills: Wear closed-toe shoes, layered clothing, sun protection including hat and suncreen
Provided: Gloves, tools and trees
