'04, '05, '06: Koi Mama's Breast Cancer Awareness Cache Rocks On!

Koi Mama, pictured here in caching mode, created a geocache to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month (October) back in 2004. Why? She and her Mom participate in the Race For The Cure as their annual Mother's Day tradition. This year Koi Mama's mother celebrates her 16th year of breast cancer survivorship!

Koi Mama says, "I'm always supportive of things that increase awareness on the subject of breast cancer. This cache may encourage you to take a minute to think of others celebrating their survivorship and to remember those who've lost their fight against this disease." She's achieved that goal and much more! Providing fun and recreation for three October's and counting, this cache is a hands-down favorite of ours for three reasons:

::: the cache takes an important message directly to the community
::: the cache can be accessed year-round
::: the cache tells a special story in a unique way and a fun environment

A former Girl Scout who now helps lead her son's Boy Scout Troop, Koi Mama, is active in the outdoors, likes to garden and, of course, enjoys her own small backyard Koi pond!

Koi Mama's breast cancer awareness treasure has been 'read about' by tons of people who play the game of geocaching. A good many of them searched and found it (including yours truly just last weekend). Want to learn how to join 'em? Visit here.
