NorCal Update: Congrats to All Sierra Racewalkers Athletes

If 80% of success is showing up, Sierra Racewalker teams have exceeded the goal! Club athletes showed up and went on to ACCOMPLISH MUCH MORE at the 11th Annual Fleet Feet Davis One Mile race on July 9. All club members were finishers--many taking top honors in the women's and men's racewalks. Hearty CONGRATS go to every racewalker!

Pictured here is Sierra Racewalkers Club President, Helen Storrs finishing the course. Post-race, Storrs deftly changed from the club's signature singlet to judges attire for her role as an official for the men's racewalk. The event was a U.S.A. Track and Field Association judged competition. U.S.A. Track & Field (USATF) is the national governing body for racewalking as well as track and field and running in the United States.

Fans and walkers: Mark your calendar for the next event--it's suitable for beginners, too: The Northern California Racewalk Alliance Program (NOCRAP) Paul Smith Memorial One Hour Postal – Sept. 24, 2006. To get in shape for the competition, try joining the club and picking up tips at their weekly workouts on Saturdays, Sundays and Thursday evenings.
