Volkssport Defined


Volkssport club president Barbara Nuss will introduce the world of "walking for fun and fitness" at our Walktopia Walkshop on March 19. Volkssport clubs around the world form a social and recreational web of walkers, swimmers and cyclists who keep track of their activities and host regular volkssport events open to all ages and abilities. When I asked Barbara for a bio she sent "just the facts, m'am" and here are some of them.

Affiliations--President of the Sacramento Walking Sticks Volksmarch Club 1.5 years. Started volkswalking Valentine's Day 1988 and have completed over 412 walks and traveled more than 5,000 kilometers. The Club has grown to over 100 members and I will be starting my 3rd summer walking program called Hot Walkin' Nights that runs June thru August.

Aspirations--to walk all 50 states; complete the A-Z booklet by walking in a city starting with a U and X; complete College Campus booklet by walking near 2 more colleges.
