Sight, sound, taste, smell, touch, oops...went too far, please rewind to << sight. And so begins yet another Walktopia list. This one's about walk culture elements embedded in visual images that reflect well.
To "reflect well" means to tell a story in an instant. Eyes are on these images because, like richly layered vignettes, they're a mix of what's plainly stated and a gazillion levels of stuff you bring to the image by viewing it through your own heart and mind. It's all about what the photographer saw and what you now understand.
The List
1. Photographer Mark Leong, CHINA OBSCURA, 1/05 Chronicle Books. A 27 photo excerpt at Digital Journalist. Check this image for walk culture elements: "ANHUI, 1989. A photographer waits by the side of the path to take souvenir photos of visitors hiking up the scenic mountain Huangshan."
